I’ve known Katie since she was born, but I didn’t learn she had such an eloquent way of articulating her feelings and emotions until her vows during her first look. They were so powerful, so evocatively succinct in describing how Taylor moves her, that it made her husband-to-be tear up on the spot.
But let’s back up a bit. The day began tucked away at the Southern Hotel cottages. It’s an easy spot to shoot in, with warm interiors and a green courtyard steps away.
Even more lovely is one of the best spots for a first look on the Northshore. There’s this floral walkway that works wonderfully as a backdrop. And that’s where the two poured their hearts out to one other. You can see them reading those vows in the video above. Just make sure you grab a tissue before.
Most impressive was Amanda Price Events doing double duty as a bridesmaid *and* a planner. I knew she was one of the very best planners in the city, but she held up her end of the bargain as a participant as well.
After the first look, everyone hopped on a trolley bus and head over to the Covington Country Club. This spot is a keeper. With swamp and a river immediately beside an oak tree where the ceremony resides, you can’t ask for much more as a backdrop. The sun did the trick as well, giving us perfect hues as the two said “I Do.”
The reception lived up to the hype, with DJ Oh Yes Oh2 bringing all the energy to the dance floor, even hopping on at one point to get the crowd going. After a quick dress change, Taylor and Katie had a bubble exit before heading backstage for an evening capper and after party.
