Jonathan had the most fun idea for the engagement shoot with his fiance, Yi Wen. He wanted to recreate the moment their relationship began at Ochsner, and then visit some of the spots where they fell in love.
We visited the Ochsner main campus, took a stroll through the French Quarter and then had some fun in Lafreniere Park.
I've known Stephen and Lesley for many years, so we've had a few trips through the French Quarter. Figured another one was due now that they're counting down the months 'til the wedding day.
About halfway through the shoot with Natalie and Robert, they let me in on a little secret: these weren't just regular engagement pics we were taking. The two had secretly planned to elope a couple weeks in the future!
And so began weeks of tight-lipped anticipation. Well, it's a pleasure to say the two have formally tied the knot, and it's even more of a pleasure to get to share with you some of the pics we made together.
I was pumped when Claire and Mikey approached me to shoot their engagement photos. I knew they'd bring a lot of energy and fun to the shoot, and they did not disappoint. They claimed they were a little nervous, but just take a look. You really couldn't tell.
Our trip took us from Audubon Park in all its glorious green-ness and then over to the lakefront to close out one fun afternoon. Mother Nature was kind enough to gift us some beautiful light.
I can't wait to see what they have in store for their wedding day.
Threat of rain never hurt anybody!
Kyle and Ashley joined me for a trip through Gentilly and City Park to snap some pictures for their engagement -- congrats!! -- and though a big blob of clouds followed us around, these two still managed to look fantastic.
Here's to hoping a trip to Hangout Fest next weekend sees more sun!
A couple of my long-time friends and favorite people, Kevin and Caitlin, took a trip with me to Vacherie to check out the stunning Oak Alley Plantation.
They're getting married next February, and each time I speak to Caitlin it seems like it's becoming more and more difficult for her to contain her excitement. You can tell from her smile -- she's ridiculously pumped for it.
I for one can't wait! So save the date, and all that.
Liz and Danny are counting down the days until their wedding in September.
We took a trip a few blocks from their home for a stroll along the train tracks before heading to City Bark to see its lovely yellow flowers that are sprouting up all over the ground.
Sadie made sure to ham it up for the camera for good measure.
Save the date -- just five months until the wedding day!
Angela Hill put it well recently. "Derek is one of my very favorite people."
A co-worker of mine at Channel 4 for nearly four years now, Derek has been that bright, bubbly figure you need in every office. He announced a week ago that he's heading back to hometown Detroit, and while that definitely sucks for us here in New Orleans, it really makes me smile to know his fiancée Melissa is every bit as kind and warm of a person as Derek is. Felt even better to get the chance to snap these engagement photos as a little send-off to the balmy Detroit tundra up north.
If you've got a few tissues handy, head to WWL Radio to listen to Derek re-tell the story of his proposal. It's the cutest thing since that little talking dog in "Up".
